The weeping willow is shrouded in mystery; sweeping mists move in and out. Light, air and movement create a changing image. Like the willow in the mist , this blog will move and change as ideas roll in and ideas roll out. Still, it will not wither but continue to stand, just as the willow has for hundreds of years.Starting with the themes: ‘Road Trip USA 2011′ , ‘Education and Technology’, ‘Learning Languages’ and ‘Family Tree History’, I eagerly anticipate sharing of ideas, exploring meaning, learning new skills, and connecting and constructing knowledge.

Hi Sue and MartyNot sure if i am in the correct area for messaging but will give it my best shot. Have an amazing and safe journey and remember to delete the unwanted photos and the end of the day. So much easier than having to go thru hundreds at the end of the journey. And don’t forget your passport, pills, potions and lotions!CheersLouxxxx
Hi Lou – thanks for your words of advice …look forward to hearing from you some more as we get going and don’t worry about the ‘modernisation’

Hi Sue & Marty
Glad you are having such a great time and catching up with family and friends. Enjoy every second…..its the same old same old once you get back home.Mum is doing fine and all others keeping fit. Love L & B X X X
Hi Lynda,We did a walk of the garden district in New Orleans, including a tour of one of the old homes built in the 1850s by an American merchant. I think you and Brian would really appreciate the architecture and the craftsmanship of these stately old homes. The columns on the portals and the well planned gardens with water features add to the majestic air and beauty of these mansions. Hopefully I will get to post some photos when I catch up with my ‘blog’.love from Marty and I to all the familySuexo

Dear Susie and Marty, You sound as if you are having a wonderful time and as I commented to Jenny how brave you are driving such a big rig!!!! How long will you be away? Thank you so much for sending the site so we can hear all about you. Both take care and continue to have a safe wonderful trip. With our love Helen and Colin xxxx
Hi Helen and Colin,
Lovely to hear from you! We’re away until August 1. The driving is a bit unnerving at times and I sometimes wonder what I have got us into but overall it seems to be worth it – we have travelled far, seen some beautiful places, met some great people and also enjoyed some fun times with friends.
Looking forward to seeing you when we get back – I hope we get down to Victoria before the end of the year.
Love
Sue and Marty XXOO

Dear Sue and Marty, You are doing the most amazing job with your blog, it is fantastic. I love to read it and the photos are beautiful. Glad Marty came home after seeing the size of that bear, very brave!! It will be a trip to remember. Colin is very busy, we are lambing and he went to Melbourne yesterday to the wool sale and the prices are very good at present. Tomorrow we are selling cattle , large yarding at Euroa. It is one of the biggest sale for the year and farmers sell and always alot of agents buy at this one for the cattle go north, we will have our fingers crossed tomorrow!! I think of you often , stay safe and keep enjoying your wodnerful adventure. With love Helen and Colin
Hi Helen and Colin,
Your life is busy at the moment! I hope you realised some good cattle prices and had a successful day at the sales.
It’s our first time in New York City and what an amazing city it is – a highlight today was viewing the Alexander McQueen Collection at the Museum of Metropolitan Art – Aunty Edie would have loved it Helen; in fact I saw a dress covered with flowers that reminded me of her!
cheers and love
Sue and Marty.
Dear Sue and Marty, Hope your are both fine and still having a wonderful trip, it is starting to come to an end. You will have wonderful memories and this blog you have done is just amazing, credit to you. Everything you do , you always do a fantastic job. We are going to Port Douglas on the 31st of July for a week with the friends we went to Italy with so we know that we all get along, lots of laughs. When we leave at the end of our week, Colin and I are hiring a car and taking a couple of days to drive down to Andrew at Airlie Beach, stay there for 6 days then fly home from Hamilton Island, very hard saying bye to him but you have done all that too. We both need a rest and darling Stuart is taking 2 weeks off work to look after the farm. He needs a brake also. It will be easier for him to be home so he can feed the stock during the day instead of doing it after work in the dark and then he can do what he wants. He is the sort of person who doen’t mind having quiet times to himself. We really appreciate what he is doing. He said to me that he wants Col to go away and not to worry about the farm. Col said that New York City was an amazing city to visit and it was many years ago that he was there. Take care dear friends and safe trip. With our love Helen and Colin. xxx
Hi Helen and Colin,
Great to hear from you again! Yes it is coming to an end. We have another week in Amsterdam with Dwight and Anna. Anna comes back from Ischia, Italy tomorrow and we will all go away for the weekend to to Kronening in the Netherlands. Then next Wednesday we fly from Amsterdam via Frankfurt to Singapore – 3 nights there and then back to Brisbane on Monday the 1st.
Have a wonderful time at Port Douglas – a beautiful place I hear and of course seeing Andrew will top off your holiday. I know you both deserve a break and it’s wonderful to think that Stuart is helping you out so that it can happen.
Thanks so much for your best wishes and next time we’re down we hope to catch up.
love from us,
SusyX
